As most of you know, I am absolutely enamored by the cultures, art, and people of Asia. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this brand new Etsy artist the other day while doing one of my usual searches. Yep - you guessed it: Buddha. :-)
Julie Pinter is a stay at home mom in Northern California, who paints and sews in her spare time - "usually late at night when (her) daughters are asleep." She is inspired by "the beauty of people and rich jewel tone colors." A lifelong artist, painting has become second nature. "It isn't what I do, it is what I am," she explains. "I don't always think about the grand scheme of things when I paint. I love to look at things of beauty and that's how I like to paint." She admits to having a "a kitchy lowbrow love for pinup art too, so you will see some lovely ladies hanging around soon." She found Etsy by accident, while reading a magazine article. "I am in awe of all the wonderful artisans that are showcased here," she says. Being a newbie, she didn't feel qualified to offer any advice, but would love some for herself if anyone is game.
