Meet Etsy Artist: schin

Schin Hern Loong admits that she loves bad puns. "The worse, the better," she jokes. "My guilty pleasure is listening to bad pop music." She also enjoys milk tea and "go(es) out of (her) way to step on crunchy, dry leaves." Nature and Life in general are a huge inspiration to her. "Yesterday I found myself wanting to paint something based on the golden colors of a cute puppy," she explains. "The subject is important to me as I always try to incorporate a story or idea in it. It's my mission that when someone sees a painting of mine, they will form their own story for it." She has been drawing and painting ever since she can remember - and considers Etsy a hobby. "It's not a job when one enjoys it," she says. "Keep the passion in your work." Meet Etsy Artist: sandyklotter

Pensacola artist Sandy Klotter has been painting for over twenty years. "First, as a hobby to learn new avenues for my creativity," she admits, "and later to start a business, which would include my design background and sales instincts." With experience in Interior Decorating, she always "think(s) in terms of what I would like in (her) own home." She often finds inspiration in her beautiful coastal town - and often uses the setting as a theme in her work. "My mood usually dictates whether I paint completely abstract, or with more details," she says of her unique painting process that also combines acrylics and watercolors. While she has been selling her work to shops and galleries for some time, she is fairly new to Etsy. Please check out her shop: htpp://sandyklotter.etsy.com

Meet Etsy Lampwork Artist: helensharvest

Helen Simon is a 57 year old homesteader in SW Louisiana. She's a self-admitted "Jesus freak, ex-hippy," who has always been an artist. One of her current obsessions is lampwork beads - and she has created some of the most ingenious and detailed examples I have ever seen. Although the koi is my personal favorite, she prefers make flowers and other natural items such as birds and shells. "God inspires me through His glorious creation," she says, "and through the work He does in folks' lives." Most of her waking hours are spent on her craft - always 60 or more a week. Please check out her shop: http://helensharvest.etsy.com/
